Slick morning thruout the North

Its a slick morning thruout northern michigan, schools are closed everywhere but for a first time not for covid. Light glaze of ice all over. Now snow has moved from thursday to rain snow mix for friday with lake effect for saturday, sunday and monday. So  as usual we have to wait to see what really happens. I know this much either there will be snow or there wont be snow. Pics below are of new beanie hats I just got in. I read over that public act 288 yesterday and it would be nice if they just put it in regular english, but I get the point and it is unbelieveable that this could actually happen to the sled trails. Take a minute and write your representative. Here is a link to find your state representative find your representative–  Next is a note from MISORVA regarding wheeled vehicles on the trail :this was written in response to a rider that ran into vehilces on the trail

Pictures like these are disheartening to say the least…..Unfortunately sometimes they are legal…..On private property trail no.  On some state land yes.  On fed land no.  On a dual use trail yes. Pretty murky right, some trail cross all types of land!  MISORVA has a Bill to ban Wheeled vehicles on the designated snowmobile trails Dec  through March 31.  We are hoping to have in introduced in January to be in effect immediately if it should pass quickly or at least by next season.  This project has been ongoing for several years, however trying to get a legislator to pick up the bill and work with us has been difficult.   Last year on our Legislative Ride we came upon a truck buried to his axels in the middle of the trail… just over a hill.  The legislators were astounded and immediately realized the danger of this that we had been trying to impress upon them for several years.  BOOM Triston Cole picked it up!  Senator Curt Vander Wall, Rep Allor, Rep Van Single are all on board.  We have reached a tentative agreement with the DNR as well so we should be set to sail.  Our biggest opposition right now is the ORV Advisory Group of course.. their job is to retain access just as our is.. now we need to reach a compromise.  Our membership is lacking and people just don’t see the value of a voice with the legislators yet the legislators are the only ones that can help.

Pete here again, also here is a link to a segment from Michigan Out of Doors from last november, I find it hard to believe what he is saying, fast forward thru the video to about 18 minutes in. Very disheartening. hard to believe this from michigan out of doors and MISORVA-

O.k. that enough for today, everyone needs to follow up on this…Thanks for checking in. Pete..
