Remembering the Mountain Man

I am saddened to tell of the passing of my friend the Mountain Man. He has been a fixture around here for 15 years and was a tough guy. He lived in a camper in the woods totally off the grid. I havent seen him in a couple of months and was thinking about going out to see how he was. I was down at the Frederic Inn saturday night and a guy that was one of his neighbors told me that he had passed on Feb 8. He was quite entertaining and actually a very nice guy. He was a little scary to some people but wouldnt hurt a fly. He loved everything out doors and when I first met him he had no place to go and he parked his camper in my back parking lot for 6 months. He moved around from spot to spot but finally got settled on a spot over by Manistee Lake. I have posted many of the pics I have of him and a link to the videos I have done with him over the years. When he would call me he would always say Mountian Man 1 to Mountain Man 2….. He left me some pretty funny off the wall calls usually I would guess after a few drinks. Quite a guy. R.I.P. Mountain Man…
