Calm and quiet sunday morning

Its been a calm and quiet sunday morning around Frederic, its almost 1 right now, about ten sleds over at the Swamp, have only had a few in here this morning but many people in their trucks. It was snowing this morning nice big flakes but we only had a dusting of new snow. Its 33 out right now. Reports have been both for surprisingly good trails for what the conditions are to pretty rough. Someone did spot the Gaylord groomer out but I have to agree with the Grayling groomers who said they cant work with the snow we have with the temps we have had. One thing I have been meaning to write about since my ride last tuesday is that I cant hardly believe it but at the hulbert road crossing which is just north of Sledheads as we were heading out on our ride and I was leading the railroad back hoe was clearing the intersection and even as familiar and know where the railroad tracks are I almost turned right onto the tracks. So I can see how other riders that may be new in town can get confused and end up on the tracks. The moral of the story is be aware of tracks and stay the heck away from them. Even though I saw the backhoe working I went to go on the wrong side of him which would have put me in the middle of the tracks. I realized it last minute and turned off…Just BE AWARE.  Pics below are from yesterday. Thanks for checking in. Pete

This guy is out for a good ride and keeps his chair with him. Glad to see him out
