You couldnt ask for better on the bridge

What a perfect day yesterday was the bridge run. 167 miles round trip, up thru Alanson and back thru Cheboygan. Stopped at the Sledview.com camera and then on to Alanson trail. Stopped at Spankys and had a nice talk with Josh who actually just bought the place yesterday. Stop in and say hi to him and his crew and tell them I sent you. From Alanson up towards Mackinaw, great snow and trails all the way, about 1 mile south of Mackinaw the groomer was coming down the trail and it stopped and the driver jumped out and flagged down Big John, Turns out he recognized John and had been riding with him before. He said it was their first time grooming this season. We went on to town for bridge pics and then over to the Keyhole for lunch only to find they were closed so we had lunch at the Dixie. Took us 4 hours to make it to the bridge. After lunch off to Cheboygan and Mullet Lake, with a warm up for hot chocolate at Breakers in Toppinabee. Continued at dark on to Gaylord for a stop at Lisa’s which was packed with sledders and who do we run into but the Obama Tour. After leaving there is when we hit the bad trail which was fine when we started out. Trail 7 from Gaylord to Frederic beat us up pretty good. Made it back to Sledheads at 8 for a great 11 hour ride. I heard trail 7 has been groomed now. I am so glad we did that run, the crew was Myself, Big John, Trent & Amber and Dustin who came with his new Polaris all the way from Iowa. At the beginningof the trip just before the sledview cam Amber got off to the side and got swallowed by a 5 foot ditch. It looked like good ground but she just sunk rightin front of me. Luckily the sled didnt roll on her and I had jumped off to help but I got ate up too. Other sledders stopped to help us out. I ended up rolling up hill to get where I could stand up. And on we went after that fiasco. We had a few inches of new lake effect overnight in Frederic and it seems pretty slow like a sunday out there. Still snow in the air and sled traffic has been light so far today. This is the most snow we have had in years. Happy New Year everyone and be safe out there.
