Surprise, Surprise, Surprise, Its about 7 a.m. here at Lake Margrethe, as I woke up this morning I heard taps on the window, I looked out and its all white out there. We have about 3 to 4 inches of wet heavy snow from overnight. Also just had a big round of Thunder for some thunder snow. Schools everywhere south and west of us are closed but Grayling and Gaylord are still open. Temp is about 25 out and there was just a huge flash of lightning followed by rolling thunder. While this all looks good remember that we are 100 percent starting over. I wouldn’t consider this rideable snow but it is a start towards a rebuild. It depends on where the temps stay. I will take a few pics on the way to Frederic this morning and post them back in here later on this morning in this same post. Thanks for checking in. Pete
O.k. here is Round 2 of todays post along with pics. So on the way to Frederic it was raining but when I got here what we had was a nice tight system snow of 3 to 4 inches. It made great snow balls and that was an hour ago but now the rain has caught up to us. Heavy thunder a little bit ago actually was vibrating my front window here in the shop and I could see it shaking. Pictures I took on the way here this morning were the trail 7 west crossing north of the high school and trail 7 north towards Gaylord at the north end of Frederic, as you can see in that pic someone was out there and left their track on the trail. They had good timing for that. The other 2 pics were just outside of the shop here. Weather man says its supposed to be more snow for tomorrow. Just remember yesterday these trails were all black and muddy and all that is still under all this good looking white so conditions are still poor. That’s it for today. Thanks for checking in again…Pete
