Good morning, coming at you from the historic Martin and Mason Hotel in Deadwood. Its 6 a.m. and we are up and getting ready to head up to Lead to go snowmobiling. First before I get going I was notified by the Grayling Chamber that a lady had lost her camera on the trail somewhere up near Frederic this weekend. If anybody has spotted it please let me know. Now as luck would have it there have been record warm temps here in south Dakota, it was 66 yesterday and that’s the warmest its been ever here. I am just bad luck on the snow thing. On the other hand there is four feet of snow up at Lead and even though its going to be warm again today we should be able to pull this off. We had a lot of work to do at the buildings in Sturgis yesterday getting things ready for the 75th annual Sturgis Rally this coming summer so the warmth actually made that kind of nice. The Martin Mason Hotel where we are staying at is owned by our friends Blake and Melanie from Northport. Their place is a period correct completely restored 1880s building that they did themselves. When you walk in it is the 1880s and all rooms are decorated in perfectly restored antiques. Very, very nice. Now for those of you that watch the bachelor coming up on the Feb 9 that episode was filmed here at the hotel. They took over the whole place and were here for three weeks. Filmed in the rooms here and the ballroom upstairs. They are very excited about the publicity that they will be getting for this place and it was quite the experience for them. Here are some pics of the motel and we are heading out to ride. Thanks for checking in. Pete
