It just doesn’t quit. The snow has been gone in our area almost 2 weeks and I learned last night that there was another snowmobile death on March 18 in Houghton Lake where the snow has been gone even longer than in Frederic. Senseless, the count this year was very low at only 5 but now its up to six. Still way better than 2003 when the death count was 46. Here is the only part of the article I could find on this most recent accident. Houghton Lake man dies following snowmobile accident
Troy Foster, 52, of Houghton Lake, died March 18 following injuries related to a snowmobile accident that occurred just after 11 a.m. that same day in Lake Township. Roscommon County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call on Michelson Road of a snowmobile accident. Upon arrival deputies found EMS transporting Foster to Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.
For some reason the sled accidents haven’t been reported in the news, the accident that happened out near Manistee Lake where a rider died was never in the news. I had several messages on the incident about Larry in Elmira and they were all from readers that were in support of Larry. I think that story is a long ways from over.
Thanks for checking in. Pete
