Yes its known as the Frederican Heatwave, its already all the up to 7 degrees this morning and of course we only had a dusting of new snow overnight. Absolutely zero sleds rode into here yesterday so that was the second day in a row with no riders into Sledheads. Kind of weird considering that we do have some snow. Usually someone is brave enough to try the cold out. At least I have been trying to straighten up my mess of an office. Next here is a story that was sent to me this morning on death number 3.
DNR conservation officers investigate snowmobile-related fatality in Antrim County
Michigan Department of Natural Resources conservation officers are investigating a snowmobile-related fatality that took place sometime in the evening of Jan. 6 in Antrim County.
A 50 year-old man from East Jordan was found dead from a snowmobile accident in a parking lot on private property in Echo Township. Witnesses found the man pinned under his snowmobile and covered by snow just after 12 noon today. His name is being withheld at this time until family notifications have been made.
It is unclear at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor. An autopsy has been ordered in the case, and the DNR continues to investigate the incident.
Persons with information about the incident can contact Conservation Officer Andrea Albert at the Gaylord DNR Office at 989-732-3541, or may call the DNR’s Report All Poaching Line, which is a 24-hour law enforcement dispatch system, at 800-292-7800. Information may be left anonymously.
Next I am going back to the fundraiser to help our local theatre here in Grayling, The Rialto. Years ago I worked there upstairs showing the movies and it is in danger of closing down. Please go to the link and watch the video and what George Blaha voice of the Pistons and MSU football has to say about this. He is a hometown grayling guy and he is doing his best to help us all out. Whatever you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/205072480/restore-the-rialto-theater Thanks for checking in. Pete
