This hurts all of us

This hurts all of us. While it looks nice and white out there conditions are still very poor around here. I just got back into Frederic about noon after driving home from Traverse City. The trailhead parking lot out by Dingmans 12 miles west of grayling had 1 truck and trailer there and 2 sleds sitting there running. While the snow is a bit thicker out that way and up towards starvation lake its still very marginal riding and the weather forcast isn’t making us feel any better with rain and 40s this weekend. So I guess I just have to be Debbie Downer and wait for something to happen and cheer all of us up. Sunday night I decided it was dead here so we took off and went to Denver and there was only a few inches of snow on the ground there and the day before it had been 50. Chicago this morning looked like much more rideable snow than here too along with Kalamazoo. That is where there is rideable snow just west of kalmazoo on the Kal Haven trail. My brother has been out there riding on that quite a few times already this season and the picture below was taken yesterday near south haven. So its kind of backwards that the good snow is all very south right now. Areas north  to the bridge are all pretty much in the same shape but I believe Petoskey still might have some of their 20 inch storm left. Sorry I don’t have any better news…..The snow chants aren’t working good enough yet…couple other pics are one I took out of the plane window this morning of the Chicago skyline on our way in from kzoo and I was happy that I got to eat at National Coney Island at the Detroit airport….it doesn’t take much to amuse me. Thanks for checking in. Pete
