Sunny & Cold

Its a sunny morning in Frederic and it was ten below earlier this morning. Still a lot of snow on the ground and weatherman says 6 inches for tomorrow. Rich from River Park Campground and I had a great 60 mile ride yesterday. We left and headed out on the two tracks and up to the air to ground range for our first stop. I was hoping we hit it right to see some planes coming in doing some live bombing and shooting but there were none scheduled for yesterday. It is so very cool to watch them do that. We headed off towards lovells and finally got on the trail to lovells and stopped at the Riverside for lunch. From there we headed off on more two tracks and back to Rich’s and I left him there and worked my way back to Frederic. There were some rough spots and some big puddles (but I like water skipping anyways) but all in all a great ride considering I thought spring was here. Now lets wait and see if it really happens again tomorrow. Oops I guess I forgot that our first stop really was a visit to the Gaylord groomers where they are parked so we took a picture there. People are confused and so am I about the trails being closed. Yes the groomers stop at the end of march. I don’t know the right answer on if you are really able to ride or not. Your trail permit is good thru Sept 30 so that still doesn’t answer the question if you can really ride. All I can say is the snow was great and I have seen trails in a lot worse shape than what we were riding on. Thanks for checking in. Pete
