Sunny & 30

Its sunny and 30 at about 11 am sunday morning. Still a lot of white on the trails and sleds out and about this morning but its going to deteriorate today. Talked to riders who had great rides yesterday including 2 different sets of riders that did Bridge run yesterday too. Still thankfull we had these bonus days that came out of nowhere this week. A group of guys wanted me to send a shout out to Noah in Canada who was sick and couldn’t make it with his group. Bad timing for being sick. Gaylord groomer was out and at it still yesterday and last night and I have had many compliments on the job they are doing. Out of the blue the Mountain Man showed up yesterday and it just happened to be his birthday too so I met him down at the Frederic Inn for a couple of birthday beers. It was funny how many people came up to us and asked if he was the Mountain man……He is a year older than me at 61. Now for the bad news. There was a fatal accident over near sunset trail which is near Manistee lake. The only thing I know on it so far was that they hit a tree. That is the first death in several years that has been close to Frederic. PLEASE REMEMBER TO RIDE SAFELY. It only takes a second. Somehow this accident from what little I know about it reminds me of one that happened out that same area years ago near Dingmans. A guy was riding with his wife following, he turned around to look back and when he did that he veered off and hit a tree and died. You just never know. Pictures below are a couple from my ride on Friday and a few from yesterday of around here. Some cool old vintage sleds were in. Thanks for checking in. Pete
