Still marginal

Its still marginal out there. I would guess I had maybe 15 sleds thru here yesterday. Snow is coming down pretty good right now and is supposed to get us some accumulation today. Still everyone I have talked to agrees on the very icy conditions out there. There were 2 sleds parked out back here this morning and they were just heading out. 3 trailers at the area motels this morning but about 40 jeeps at the Ramada. One of the Kalkaska groomers was out yesterday up towards starvation lake but that’s the only groomer that I am aware of that has been out. I haven’t broke out my plow truck yet, we still need more snow before I am ready to push some. Today is the 50th anniversary of the I 500 up in Soo St Marie. I have never been to that and someday might go to watch them do their 500 laps on the track up there. Also Wertz warriors were spotted out by Dingmans either yesterday or the day before on their annual fund raiser and ride for Michigan Special Olympics. They used to come to Frederic but haven’t been here in a few years now. Mark the Byrd Fydrich used to be their big draw and was a super guy. So now we just need more snow to get this season moving again. Also a big SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU to Brook & Kathleen from Fenton who were kind enough to deliever my 6 coneys from Tellys Coney Island in Flint…..what a great breakfast those make….The pics below are from this morning outside of sledheads….Its now 10:12 a.m. and I am adding this to this post, the train just went by here heading towards Gaylord. Its the State Police out patrolling the tracks. At least they pick a weekend to do it when there is no one here. They have the big MSP decals on the train. I have said it many times before STAY AWAY FROM THE TRACKS.  For those that don’t they will learn expensive lesson today. Thanks for checking in. PeteIMG_0992 IMG_0993[1] IMG_0994[1]
