Let’s Ride

Temperatures have been perfect for riding all week and are supposed to continue that way. There is a ton of snow out there everywhere you go. Wednesday I went and met up with Heart attack Jack, Bad leg Barry, along with Missy, Eddie and little Timmie Thompson. We headed off thru the trails an two tracks and wow is there a lot of snow out there. While we were up on top of a big hill Jack had a problem with the belt on his 2015 arctic cat. You know changing a belt on a new sled isn’t as easy as it used to be. We were up there a while when I found a flare in the back of my sled. I have had that sled for five years and never have seen that flare in there before but wow what a great way to start a campfire. I lit it and there was a lot of wood around so we had a fire in no time. So my tip is to keep a flare with you as you never know when you might be stopped for a while. To bad we didn’t have some hot dogs too. So after that we headed up towards the settings at lakes of the north. Trail 4 was good and we made it to the setting at 5:30 just in time to have a great spaghetti dinner. There were about 15 other sleds there too. From there we headed on back towards Frederic and I am happy to say that the trail from Gaylord to Frederic had finally been groomed. I was wondering if they were going to get on that as had not been touched since I believe Saturday. Grayling groomers come up to Frederic from Grayling and do a fantastic job but north of Frederic is Gaylords responsibility. I don’t like posting negative things her but if your not doing the job……….. Temps are supposed to stay comfortable and should make for great riding conditions. Pictures below are from our ride yesterday. Thanks for checking in. Pete
