Its the weekend, Lets Ride……oh wait, we cant cause the trails suck…….its 27 and partly sunny out there this morning. Believe it or not I did see two sleds ride into town here yesterday and I also tracks at the crossing north of the high school this morning. I have had reports of sleds out north and west of town but I still have to belive its pretty thin riding anywhere. For the heck of it I went thru the motel lots this morning and I was surprised to see one trailer at the Ramada, they were from Ohio and my best guess was they stopped for the night as they head north. I did have some guys stop in yesterday that were heading up to Grand Marais and I would imagine it will be very busy up there this weekend. I just got off the phone with Patti at the Clark Motel in Strongs and they are full and riding out of there too. I would imagine I will get people stopping in on their way north today and tomorrow, I am just 2 miles off exit 264 on I 75…..So the wait is on again for this warm spell to go away, maybe next weekend we will get back to riding around Frederic. So today I celebrate two things, The first one is my best birthday present ever which is my daughter Melissa who turns 25 today and I am also celebrating the 40th anniversary of my 21st birthday. The pic below of us below is from Monday nite in Denver when we were out there to deliver her birthday card. On sunday nite Cathy said we needed to mail her birthday card on Monday and I reminded her that it was MLK day and no mail so I said lets save 50 cents and deliver the card in person so that’s how we ended up in Denver on Monday……then as luck would have it Gopher Greg just stopped in with a fantastic present. He just returned from Minnesota from the Spam museum and he brought me a 12 pack of assorted Spam and a hat to boot. He said he figured it out last week that when I met up with the mountain man that I was actually negotiating a room to stay in his camper because business was bad…….well I have enough to eat now for a while.
