Its that time of year again

Its my favorite time of year, it is now Tuesday night September 30 and in about 12 hours I will start my annual quest into the forests of beautiful northern Michigan to  find Big Don. So it will be October first and opening day of bow season and only 2 months till the official opening of the snowmobile trails. My choice this year instead of going to my normal spot to hunt will be to take my canoe and float the south branch of the ausable which will take me most of the day. Its a beautiful stretch of river with no houses. I will stop for lunch at the Mason Chapel which I always enjoy. If you happen to be in Frederic this weekend it will be interesting to see what my parking lot looks like, I am expecting a bit of company there. I will post pictures next week. This past weekend we camped out up at Clear Lake north of Atlanta and it was a picture perfect fall weekend. Below I am pasting 2 pictures, one of which is what I am looking for tomorrow taken by my friend GM at his hunting spot and the other picture of a double rainbow over lake margrethe also taken by GM…..Thanks for checking in and as Tina Turner sang years ago I will be rollin on the river tomorrow.
