Frosty Frederic Morning

Its a frosty Frederic morning today at 31 degrees. The all new black roof that the Swamp had put on a couple weeks ago is all white this morning as are all the cars and grass around town here, that almost wants to make me do the snow chant, I said almost……I know at least a few people were thinking of sleds here this weekend, I pulled up to a truck in town with a ski doo in the back and took a picture of it, the next morning I had an email from Kevin who is a regular in here who said he had seen me taking the picture, I saw another Polaris go thru town here in a truck and also helped a guy load up four sleds that had them down at my storage units. Remember this winter for those of you that don’t want to haul your trailer back and forth that I have secure outside fenced storage for that purpose. Cathy and I returned last week from our trip to the Dominican Republic, it was steamy hot down there. Very nice but I will take the snow. We came back and took a color tour up to Elmira to Deadmans Hill and then up to the tunnel of trees via the Pigeon River forest which was at its peak colors. I am proud to say that I have two friends that are WW2 Veterans, one of them Harvey Rowland in Grayling is also a Pearl Harbor survivor and the other Woody Austin of Walloon Lake comes to see me each year to sell me a trail map ad for the Tip of the Mitt map. That’s the map you need if you want to ride up to the Bridge from here. Well we were out on our color tour and stopped for lunch at Bettys in Boyne Falls and who should pop in but Woody Austin himself. We had a great lunch and visit. The weather man is saying we might get a little snow later today so I will post pics if it really happens. Thanks for checking in and THINK SNOW! Pete
