Fire on The Frederic Trail

Fire on the Frederic trail 7 yesterday at the crossing north of the high school. A 2000 arctic cat from the thumb area decided it had enough and went into meltdown mode. Pics are below. Lots of riders on Saturday and so far this morning in Frederic. It is up to 30 already and this is the beginning of the end of our trails. Darn it seems like we just got going. I heard a couple times yesterday that Gaylord to Wolverine was in poor conditions already, on the other hand there two different sets of riders in here yesterday that had rode up here from West Branch and reported superb trails. That can all change fast. The Harbor Beach crew were in here yesterday and wanted to send a shout out to Uncle Jerry who couldn’t make it up this weekend. Also I see the state finally updated their page on the fatal sled accidents. They hadn’t updated since Jan 27 where the count was at 7. The fatality count is now at 13, that’s one less than last year. All riders killed were males……its almost always speed that does it so Darn It, BE CAREFUL……. Next Saturday is the Veterans Ride in Seney at the Fox River Motel. Their moto is Be a Vet, Bring a Vet, Thank a Vet. This might be the year I finally get to attend. They put on a great ride and time for everybody. I would imagine things are going to switch over in a hurry to all off trail riding in our area. There is still enough snow out there in spots to get stuck in. Also below are several other pics I took out front yesterday. Thanks for checking in. Pete
