Couldn’t ask for Better

You couldn’t ask for better today. I had about 4 fresh inches at Lake Margrethe and there was only maybe an inch in grayling and about 2 new inches in Fredreic. Still nice and cold which is great. 14 degrees here at 10:30 a.m. in the epicenter of the snowmobiling universe, beautiful downtown Frederic. Sled traffic was heaviest so far this season for yesterday and its been busy in here since I got here at 8:30. I was checking the motels this morning and there were 6 trailers at the Days Inn and 40 at the Ramada. As I was checking trailers at the Ramada some guys flagged me down and asked if I had trail permits and of course I said yes, so I sold 8 trail permits to those guys in the parking lot. That was a new one. I have been meaning to say this for a few days and it would be  a good idea to take a picture of your trail permit on your sled so if it happens to blow off you have something to show if you get stopped. Kristina, Dave, & Preston were in here yesterday morning and then stopped by last night after their return trip from riding up to the bridge. That makes the first riders I have talked to that rode up to the bridge. They went up thru Cheboygan and then returned thru Alanson. With all the cold this year I would imagine there will be an ice bridge to both Mackinaw Island and Bois Blanc Island but that is most likely a ways off yet. There hasnt been any ice bridges in a few years so that will be nice if it does happen. Had dinner at the Frederic Inn last night and that was a good chunk of prime rib plus Kenny was good enough to buy me a beer…..cant ask for better than that. The pics of the sleds with the neon were outside the Frederic last night. Thanks for checking in. PeteIMG_0339 IMG_0342 IMG_0343 IMG_0344 IMG_0346
