Big Weekend in Grayling

This is the big weekend of the year in Grayling with the 67th annual Ausable River Canoe Marathon starting at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night where thousands will gather on the banks of the river at the Old Ausable Fly Shop to watch the 80 plus canoes race to get into the river and paddle for 14 to 18 hours straight until they get to Oscoda about 120 miles downstream. Lots of other activities in Grayling Saturday during the day with the car show downtown, craft show in the park, food court towards the courthouse and parade at 3. Then be downtown early on sunday morning for the start of the Avita Water Black Bear bicycle tour where 3 to five hundred bicycles will leave about 8 a.m. and try to arrive a their finish line in Oscoda about the same time that the canoes come in. Lots of things to see. Thanks for checking in. Pete

good luck paddlers
